Mickey Angel T. Cortez is an undergraduate student at the University of the Philippines Open University under the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies (BAMS) program. She is a graduate of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) track at Dr. Carlos S. Lanting College in Quezon City as the valedictorian of Batch 2018. Her drive to debunk fake news and unveil the media's covert strategies to manipulate the minds was set alight when she was introduced to Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in Senior High School.

As a full-time distance learner online, a Gen Z baby, and an advocate of MIL, Mickey is highly aware and well-versed of the trends, fads, and the commercial and political propaganda that spread, rise, and ebb online in the Philippines. With the help of her courses under Multimedia Studies, her skillset pertinent to the progressively digital world grows day-by-day. Ultimately, she aspires to influence the people on being critical and analytical of the information and messages communicated by the internet and the media.
